Industrial wastewater treatment plants differ from municipal wastewater treatment plants in the type of wastewater to be treated, as well as the treatment methods and technical solutions used. Industrial wastewater generated by technological processes is post-production waste, the management of which is the responsibility of the producer. Depending on a number of factors, including ecological, economic, technological or organisational, there are solutions allowing to utilise wastewater, neutralise it or reuse it. Many years of neglect related to inappropriate disposal of post-production waste or, what is worse, storing it in inappropriately protected packaging, resulted in local pollution of soils and surface waters. Today, with much greater awareness of the impact of our activities on the environment, solutions are available to properly dispose of waste with care for the environment.
